Plastic Recycling

Plastic recycling is very important and must be done well, although not all plastics can be recycled due to economic and technical problems. we must recycle all plastic that can be recycled, so that it does not accumulate into garbage because plastic waste takes hundreds of years to decompose.

Plastic Category

Plastics are categorized in seven types and some types are more often recycled because of economic and technical factors.

Commodity plastic

polyethylene terephthalate

PET is usually used for mineral water bottle, soda water bottles, sports drinks bottles and jars.

polyethylene (high density)

HDPE is used for milk and juice bottles, detergent bottles, shampoo bottles

Polyethylene (low density)

LDPE is used for shopping bags, bread packages, magazine wraps, garbage bags.

Polypropylene

PP is used to make yogurt boxes, food boxes, furniture, luggage, and clothing.

Non commodity plastic

polyvinyl chloride

PVC can be made flexible or hard and is usually used for water pipes, clear food packaging, toys, table cloths, floor mats and imitation leather.

polystyrene

PS, also called styrofoam, is used in glasses, plates, lunch boxes, and meat pads.

abs, acrilic, policarbonate

plastics that are not included in the previous six categories will be categorized as number 7. Items such as CDs, toys and other household appliances.

Good Plastic for Recycling?
